How much silver in Qing Dynasty coins?
The pawn shop that I went to today also had several Qing Dynasty Chinese coins. Initially they looked to me to be 90% silver but I found a web site that says they are a silver/nickel alloy without giving any percentages. The same website also has them for sale for 8 bucks each. I guess there must not be that much silver in them to sell for that price. Does anyone know here know what the silver content of these coins is?
This is a link to a pic of a coin like the ones I saw today. http://www.tias.com/8598/PictPage/3923171438.html |

Need anyone say anything???
Just research the "how much is my fake chinese silver panda worth" thread or the " tell me about this counterfeit chinese silver bar" thread.... Forget about it..... Buy known silver.... Just MHO:banghead: |
Re: How much silver in Qing Dynasty coins?
In Bejing a few years ago, these were available for about Fifty Cents from street venders.
There is more silver in your lawn chair struts than in these replicas. |
